Step-by-step walkthrough
Set up your custom domain
Run your club on your own web address — www.yourclub.com — instead of a shared subdomain. It comes down to adding a single CNAME record at your registrar and verifying it in Hooptopia™; SSL is handled for you. The walkthrough below plays the whole thing, screen by screen.
Set up your custom domain
Point www.yourclub.com at Hooptopia™ — four steps, about five minutes.
The four steps
- 1
Open your registrar's DNS settings
Sign in wherever your domain is registered — GoDaddy, Namecheap, Cloudflare, Google Domains, any of them — and open the DNS settings for your domain. That's the page that decides which server answers for your address.
- 2
Add one CNAME record
Add a record with type CNAME, host www, and value cname.hooptopia.app, leaving TTL on the default. Save it. For the bare domain with no www, some registrars use an ALIAS or ANAME record instead, or a simple forwarding rule to the www version.
- 3
Verify it in Hooptopia
In your club settings, enter your domain. Hooptopia™ confirms the CNAME is in place and then provisions an SSL certificate for you automatically — no keys to paste and no renewals to remember. Green means secured.
- 4
Wait for DNS, then you're live
DNS changes spread across the internet in minutes, occasionally up to a few hours. After that, your club's site loads on your own domain, in your own name, logo, and colors — the only Hooptopia™ mark is a small "powered by Hooptopia™" credit.
Good to know
- One record. A single CNAME from www to cname.hooptopia.app is all the routing Hooptopia™ needs.
- SSL is included. Hooptopia™ provisions and renews the certificate automatically, so your site is served securely over https with no extra work.
- Your brand stays front and center. Everything a family sees runs under your own name, logo, colors, and address — the only Hooptopia™ mark is the small "powered by Hooptopia™" credit in the footer.
- Prefer a hand? Email hello@hooptopia.app and a real person will walk your domain through with you.
